Point of Sale: Creating and Signing Invoices

The Point of Sale screen is a complete, working Point of Sale System built into XPOS ESDC — useful on its own, or as a reference for what a real integration does behind the scenes (see Integrating XPOS ESDC with Your POS if you're building your own).

Creating an invoice

Fill in the Invoice card:

FieldNotes
Invoice typeNormal (a regular sale), Advance (deposit/advance payment), Training, Copy, or ProForma.
TransactionSale or Refund.
PaymentHow the customer paid (cash, card, etc.).
CashierDefaults to whatever you set in Settings → Behavior → Default cashier.
Buyer ID / Cost centerOptional — fill in if your business tracks these.

Refunds and Copies require a referent document — the invoice you're refunding or copying. Click Pick past invoice… to search recent invoices instead of typing the number by hand.

Adding items

Each row needs a name, quantity, unit price, and a tax label (from your current tax rates — see Settings Reference). Prices are VAT-inclusive. GTIN/barcode is optional — click the small GTIN toggle next to a row to add one; leave it blank if your business doesn't use barcodes.

Copy mode

Set Invoice type to Copy and pick the invoice to copy — item entry is replaced with a single "reproduce this invoice" action. Signing reissues the same items, taxes and payment as a fiscal Copy and prints its receipt.

Signing

Once everything looks right, sign the invoice. If the card's PIN hasn't been verified yet this session, you'll be prompted first. On success, the receipt is generated and (if Automatically open the receipt after signing is on in Settings) opens automatically.

Signing without internet

Signing an invoice is a local operation between XPOS ESDC and your Secure Element card — it does not require an internet connection. You can keep creating and signing invoices normally while offline. Behind the scenes, each signed invoice is queued for audit submission to TaxCore and sent automatically once connectivity returns (see Audit & Reset for how the audit queue and offline capacity work).
