Getting Started

XPOS ESDC is Defy Technologies' Windows desktop fiscalization client for Fiji's Electronic Sales Data Controller (E-SDC) requirement. It connects a business's point-of-sale software to FRCS's TaxCore system, signing every sale through a physical Secure Element card and keeping a local audit trail synchronized with FRCS.

What it does

  1. Signs invoices against a Secure Element (smart card) over PC/SC, issuing FRCS-compliant fiscal invoice numbers, verification URLs and QR codes for every sale.
  2. Runs as a local service on the till itself, exposing a local HTTP API (loopback-only by default) that a POS or ERP system calls to fiscalize a sale.
  3. Includes a built-in Point of Sale screen for businesses that don't run separate POS software, so XPOS ESDC can be used stand-alone.
  4. Handles audit automatically — queues, submits and reconciles proof-of-audit cycles with FRCS in the background, with a local (removable-media) export path for sites offline for extended periods.
  5. Prints and stores receipts (80mm thermal and A4), keeps a searchable invoice history, and generates turnover/tax reports.
  6. Manages licensing per device, with a Free edition and a Pro edition.

Editions

Free — full fiscalization functionality up to FJ$100,000 in annual production turnover per taxpayer TIN, tracked automatically and reset each calendar year.

Pro — everything in Free, with the turnover cap removed.

This section covers installing XPOS ESDC and getting your first PIN verified. If you're a developer integrating your own POS or ERP against XPOS ESDC's API, see Integrating XPOS ESDC with Your POS further down this category instead.

Installing

A Microsoft Store listing for XPOS ESDC is in progress and not yet live. Until then, install directly:

  1. Download the installer from xpos.com.fj.
  2. Run the downloaded XPOS-ESDC-Setup-1.0.0.exe file.
  3. Windows may show a "Windows protected your PC" SmartScreen notice, since this installer is not yet digitally signed. Click More info, then Run anyway, to continue.
  4. Approve the administrator permission prompt when Windows asks for it.
  5. Follow the setup wizard: accept the licence agreement, then click Install.
  6. Once finished, XPOS ESDC starts automatically and settles into the system tray.

If you would rather not download it yourself (some locked-down business PCs restrict this), contact Support and ask for the installation file instead.

Install it on the Windows PC that has your smart-card reader attached. XPOS ESDC starts automatically when you sign in to Windows and lives quietly in the system tray — you don't need to keep its window open for it to work. Your point-of-sale software talks to it in the background on this same machine.

Verifying your PIN

Insert your Secure Element card, open XPOS ESDC, and enter your PIN on the Status screen. Once verified, the card stays unlocked for that session so your POS can sign invoices without asking again. You'll need to re-enter it if you restart the app or swap cards.
