Free vs Pro & Activating Your License
XPOS ESDC works out of the box on the Free edition: unlimited use up to $100,000 of production sales per year. Training invoices, copies, and sandbox testing never count toward this cap. Refunds also always work, even past the cap.
Once you're past $100,000 for the year, new production sales pause until you activate ESDC Pro, which removes the cap entirely.
Activating Pro
Open Settings → License. You have two options:
- Sign in with Your Defy Account — the easiest path if you already have a Defy account with an active subscription. One click, no key to type or lose.
- Activate a Pro license key — type your product key and click Activate. You'll find your product key on the SLS Portal under your account.
Either way, activating binds this device to your Defy Account — it's how the license server knows which subscription this Device belongs to, and it's what makes Check license now, admin-alert emails, and seat management all work.
Once activated, Settings shows your edition, how the device was activated, when your license expires, and when it will next check in with the license server — see Understanding Your License Status for what each of those fields means.
If you see "all seats are in use"
Each license has a limited number of devices ("seats") that can be active at once — shown as part of your plan. If you try to activate a new Device and every seat is already taken, XPOS ESDC shows you the list of devices currently using a seat, each with when it last checked in. Pick the one you want to replace (for example, an old Device you've retired) and the app frees that seat and activates this device in its place automatically.
If you don't recognize one of the listed devices, contact support before freeing anything — it may mean someone else is actively using that seat.
Deactivating a device
Retiring a Device, or moving your license to a new PC? Click Deactivate this device in Settings → License first, on the old machine, to free its seat before activating elsewhere.
