FRCS TaxCore Compliance (VSDC)
XPOS Cloud is a software-based fiscal solution: it integrates with FRCS TaxCore through a VSDC (Virtual Sales Data Controller) rather than a physical Secure Element card. This article covers connecting XPOS Cloud to TaxCore, the compliance rules that follow from that connection, how tax rates and payment methods are kept in sync, and hardware requirements for devices used at the point of sale.
How the VSDC integration works
FRCS TaxCore is FRCS's digital tax reporting platform. XPOS Cloud integrates with it through the VSDC to submit VAT transaction data electronically, in real time or near real time, with each invoice digitally signed by the VSDC. Once configured, the POS and VSDC mutually authenticate on every operation. All communication happens over HTTPS β if a connection is attempted over plain HTTP, XPOS Cloud automatically redirects it to a secure channel.
Connecting to FRCS (VMS setup)
Before you start, have ready: your VSDC certificate file, your PAC (Provisioning Access Code), the certificate password, and admin access to the POS.
- Open the POS screen, click the TaxCore icon at the bottom, and select Settings (or go directly to
/taxcore/settings). - Enter the PAC exactly as it was issued to you.
- Select the environment: Production (Live) for real trading, or Sandbox (Test) for testing.
- Click Upload Certificate and select your VSDC certificate file.
- Enter the certificate password.
- Scroll down and click Update Settings to save.
- Click Connect to FRCS and wait for validation β the status should change to Connected.
Upload: the TaxCore Settings screen β PAC field, environment selector, certificate upload, and the "Connected" status indicator.
Optional settings
Sync settings β choose real-time sync, scheduled sync, or automatic retry on failure.
Training Mode β enable while testing; always disable it before going live.
Go-live checklist
- PAC entered correctly
- Correct environment selected (Production for live trading)
- Certificate uploaded and password correct
- Status shows Connected
- Settings saved (Update Settings clicked)
- Training Mode switched off
If connection fails: recheck the PAC, verify the certificate file and password, confirm the correct environment is selected, and check the internet connection.
What the SDC connection means for how sales work
A few rules follow directly from being FRCS-compliant software, and they hold no matter what:
- No connection, no invoice. XPOS Cloud cannot create or print an invoice unless it is connected to the SDC β this guarantees every invoice is actually recorded by the tax system.
- No invoice, no sale. A sale cannot be recorded without generating a fiscal invoice for it.
- The SDC response is never altered. Whatever the SDC returns for an invoice β tax labels, values, business identification β is printed exactly as received. XPOS Cloud does not add, remove, or change any of it.
- The invoice header is always complete. All issuer information returned by the SDC appears on the invoice; nothing is hidden or omitted.
Printing is fully supported both ways: XPOS Cloud can send invoices to an external receipt printer, or print directly using its own built-in printing β no extra setup required either way.
Tax rates
XPOS Cloud does not let you define your own tax rates for fiscal transactions β it receives the current tax labels and percentages directly from FRCS TaxCore via the VSDC during sync, and uses those for every tax calculation. The rates currently configured by TaxCore are:
| Name | Tax Label | Tax Rate |
|---|---|---|
| VAT | D | 15.00% |
| VAT | G | 12.50% |
| VAT | A | 9.00% |
| ECAL | F | 11.00% |
| STT | E | 6.00% |
| TOTL | T | 2.00% |
| PBL | P | 0.50% |
| VAT | B | 0.00% |
| VAT-EXCL | C | 0.00% |
| N-TAX | N | 0.00% |
Every printed receipt shows the tax label alongside its value exactly as TaxCore returned it in the fiscal journal β XPOS Cloud never modifies this. Because labels and rates sync dynamically from TaxCore, new tax categories introduced in future are picked up automatically without an app update. Authorized users can view the full list of currently synced tax rates at any time from the POS configuration screen, and final rounding of tax values follows the rules set by the fiscal system itself, as returned by TaxCore.
Upload: the synced tax rates view in POS configuration, and a printed receipt showing tax labels/values.
Payment methods
Requires an active TaxCore connection. Go to TaxCore → Settings → Map Payment Labels. XPOS Cloud retrieves the supported payment methods directly from the VSDC API β Cash, Card, Check, Wire Transfer, Voucher, Mobile, and Other β and maps them automatically. Manual addition of payment methods isn't allowed, since the mapping must strictly follow VSDC-based VMS requirements.
Upload: the Map Payment Labels screen showing the auto-retrieved payment methods.
Reference numbers
For a normal sale invoice linked to an advance or proforma invoice, the operator can enter a reference number when finalizing it β XPOS Cloud validates it automatically for consistency with the linked invoice. For refund and copy invoices, a reference number is required, to guarantee an accurate link back to the original invoice. In both cases, reference numbers are validated against FRCS TaxCore in real time, which prevents incorrect submissions before they happen.
Hardware compliance
XPOS Cloud is offered as both a software-only solution and with dedicated hardware POS devices. Where a hardware device is used, FRCS accreditation requires it to clearly display:
- Manufacturer Name β identifies the maker of the device.
- Serial Number β a unique identifier for that device.
- Software Version β the installed POS software version (also viewable in the POS interface for audits).
- Hardware Version β the device model/version.
- Electrical Information β stickers showing voltage, amperage, and related specifications.
Upload: a sample hardware compliance sticker showing manufacturer, serial number, and version info.
Supported peripherals
| Device | Notes |
|---|---|
| Barcode scanner | Standard scanners, wired (USB) or wireless β managed directly by the POS. |
| USB printers | 80mm USB thermal and non-thermal receipt printers. Printers smaller than 80mm are not officially supported. Non-thermal printers print to the maximum area the receipt requires. |
| Network printers | 80mm thermal printers over the network. Only printers supporting ESC/POS commands can connect directly by IP/port β others must be added as a System printer instead. |
| Cash drawer | Connects to the POS; opens automatically when paired with a network printer. |
| A4 printers | Supported for printing standard A4 documents (e.g. reports). |
None of these peripherals are required for XPOS Cloud to function β normal POS operation is unaffected whether or not any of them are connected.
